Kalkwasser reactor question
Whick kalkwasser reactor is better; the type that uses the magnetic stir bar, or the type that uses a powerhead? Also, would you reccomend an MRC or Geo reactor?

I use an Aquamedic kalk stirrer which is very similiar in design to the Deltec kalk stirrer. It uses a motor located at the top of the unit, that controls a stir arm -- no magnet or powerhead.
So far I like it. |

Magnetic stir bars type I would suggest. Just because you don't have to clean it at all.

I'm with KingKong as I use a Deltec stirrer. The is absolutely no noise, as the motor is small and enclosed. I prefered this setup as there is no possibility of clogging. Of your choices you listed, I would go with a magnetic stirrer.HTH

I use a powerhead based Geor reactor. I see no problems in its operation and the powerhead really creates a good stir without risk of sediment reaching the top.
It is also a well built unit and a great value.
