Fluorescent help

ok so when i bought my stuff i did not have a lot of $$ so i bought a standard Fluorescent light strip...now i am ready to up grade...as of now it fowlr...i want to go reef some time in the future...can i just chage the bulbs that are in there now if so what kind should i get?...

when you do change, then thats when I would buy the lights....unless you got $$$$ burning a hole in your pocket right now....otherwise, hold off and save some $$$ and get your self a nice MH system....IMO

No, if you were to just replace the bulbs you'd get the same exact thing as you have now (just new bulbs).

Fluorescent and MH bulbs all use a ballast to control the amount of power your bulbs are getting.So in short, you need to replace the ballast and the bulbs to move to more powerful lighting.

I'd recommend T5 (www.reefgeek.com for nice retrofit kits) or MH. Expect to drop at least several hundred.
