Frag Plugs?

Hey guys. I have recently been checking out a new LFS and have bought some frags from them. The only problem is that they come on some good sized plugs. I picked up some button polyps, a ricordia yuma, and a frogspawn. My question is what do you guys do with plugs when you get em? Just put them in the tank with the coral on em, or somehow take the coral off and put it in the tank?

The reason im asking this is because the plugs are sort of "messy" looking, and dont really fit in with the live rock, and it's sometimes difficult to find a big spot for em.

Thanks in advance!

If they don't fit your tank, pull the frags off. The trick is not to damage the livestock. Frogspawn should be easy to pluck off if you grab it by the skeletal core and not touch living tissue. For the buttons and Ricordia, you can try to work your way under the soft tissue, or cut / chip away at the plug to reduce its mass.
