Questions About 90 Gallon Reef

HELLO, I HAVE A 90 GALLON ACRYLIC TANK WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF CORALS. FIRST OFF I HAVE ABOUT 300 POUNDS OF LIVE ROCK IN IT. IS THIS TO MUCH? IF SO HOW MUCH SHOULD I HAVE IN IT? SECOND I HAVE TWO 250 WATT METAL HALIDES ON IT WITH 2 110 WATT BLUE COMPACTS HOW LONG SHOULD I RUN EACH? ALSO I WAS USING PURPLE UP BUT IT MAKES MY TANK TURN FULL OF GREEN ALGAE ON THE GLASS, SHOULD I CONTINUE TO USE? ALSO I HAVE THE FOLLOWING IN THE TANK, TWO 5-6 INCH YELLOW TANGS, TWO CLOWN FISH, ONE VERY BIG GREEN BRITTLE STAR, ONE SMALL SAND SIFTING STAR, ONE 3-4 INCH CORAL BANDED SHRIMP, TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF DAMSELS COULD I ADD A 2 FOOT LONG SNOWFLAKE EEL IN THERE WITH NO PROBLEM OR WOULD THAT BE A PROBLEM. IF NOT WHAT OTHER REEF SAFE FISH WOULD YOU SUGGEST? SORRY FOR SO MANY QUESTIONS BUT I DO NOT KNOW ALOT, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

well first of all i dont know how u have 300 pounds of LR in a 90g with all those fish...
thats pretty odd..

with ur lights thats what i would do.. i would run ur actinics for an hour maybe hour and a half the turn ur halides on for like 9 10 hours then keep ur actinics on for another hour or so till its night time...

with all the algea on the tank.... try doin some water changes and checking ur phosphates....

i would suggest the snowflake eel because he might no a bunch of stuff over...

hth

1. lights depend on the number of hours you run them and the quality.
A. rule of thumb every 10-12 month
2. Eel
A. It may eat your shrimps but on the good side it will eat those @@@@in damsels.
good luck

I'm not saying Purple Up is bad. But it doesn't list its ingredients, so you don't know what to test for. If you continue using it with "different types of corals" I'd keep an eye on Ca, Alk, and Mg.
