wet instant ocean salt
I kept my salt under my tank and went to use it the other day and the bag was wet inside so much it looked like water got into it somehow. Simple solution i just moved it into a diffrent room. Then i went to get it today the the new bag was kinda hard. It broke up soon as i started messing with it but i was wondering two things.
1. What caused the bag to get wet inside? Just the humidity under the tank maybe? 2. Does the bags of instant ocean you guys use usually get hard after you open it or am i just not closeing it up good enough? Thanks, Tim |

It's going to be hard to tell you why your salt is wet. Doubtful that it is too much humidity under the tank unless you have a sump there and the bag was left open next to it.
In general if you carefully close the bag and store it in a dry place like a closet or pantry or cabinet (not your fish cabinet), it should stay dry longer than you will use it up. |

mine just soaks up any humidity in my room (which is like 80% lol)
But i also lost a bag the same way you did. It was all hard and when i started scooping it up it broke apart, but most of it woudlnt disolve right, so i was left w/a bunch of crystals at the bottom.

Ya thats what i did. I moved the new bag to the closet in the other room but when i went to get it the salt was clumped together. No problem though i just broke it back up with my fingers.
