Recirc Skimmer or New Sump
Is there an economical, yet good performing recirc skimmer for a 75 gal moderately stocked mixed reef? Or should I upgrade the sump and go with an in sump?
I have a standard 20 gal aquarium sump, with a small intake section. So, the easiest route is to get a recirc, hook it up and no other hassle. However, the in sumps, are comparable prices for heavier bioloads or larger capacities. What does everyone think about this dilema? Dave |

Upgrading the sump should be cheaper if you are just going to go with a glass aquarium with some added baffels. However, you have the headache of getting the old one out...getting the new one in...etc.
Probably the most economical recirc you will find for the 75 is the Recirc 150 from www.octopusskimmer.com . To get even better performance, check out the mod thread here on RC. |
