Phosban users please help
I setup a Phosban reactor a week ago. I put 150g of Phosban it in. I use the valve to allow a bit of Phosban granule tumbling on the surface. I just ran a Phosphate test this morning. The Phosphate level in both display tank and reactor outlet are 1. The test kit is good because I got 0 on DI water.
Should I get 0 reading from the outlet? What can I do? Thanks. |

Did you test your Phosphates before? It is possible your PO4 was pretty high, and you have exhausted the Phosban.
What does the test show when you test the tank water? I would try a retest and make sure you clean the vials well between tests.

Several questions arise. What test kit are you using? What was your PO4 before? Do you have a skimmer? How big is the tank? Bioload? Fuge/DSB? Salt? Carbon? Food? All of these plus more can affect PO4 levels.
It could be as simple as the media is exhausted. Or your test kit isn't sensitive enough to detect a difference between 1ppm and 0. |
