My 65g Mixed Reef

Hey Everyone,
Since I am the new guy I figured I would post some pics, try not to be to harsh lol I just recently upgraded to a much needed MH (250w HQI 20k)...from pc's and t5's...My main focus up to this point was softies and some lps, but with the addition of the MH i am trying for some easy sps (i just got a frag of monti digi and orange cap) ....not in pics....Anyway enjoy..!!

Wow! Looks nice. Everything looks happy. How long has it been set up? Are any of the pics before the new MH? The reason I ask is that some of your zo's seem to be stretching for more light.

Details on the set up please.

Dan

lol, I was waiting on someone to say that, actually since i retrofitted the aquamedic pendant into my canopy i had to off center it due to the oceanic center brace, the right side of my tank still gets the light by all means but for some reason those zoos on that side still are acting like i have pc's ..

Overflow/Wet/dry/trickle filter (polypad, phospad, carbon)
Quietone 3000 return pump (approx 780gph)
3 MaxiJets for in tank circulation
BakPak2 Dual Skimmer (only thing left to upgrade-i know)
Custom cabinetry built into rawd iron stand
Custom Canopy with retrofit 2-55w acntic PC's and Current Moonlight LED's & 250w 20k HQI MH
2" Live Sand bed
75lbs LR

Fish
Lamark Angel
Three stripe Damsel
Lawnmower Blenny
Blackcap Basslet
Engineer Goby
Med. Blonde Naso

Cleaner Crew/Inverts
Nassurius Snails
Few Zebra Hermits

Everything looks good, but you need a way to get rid of nitrates (besides the Live Rock). Can you add a 4+ inch sand bed to your trickle filter?

RO/DI water for top off?

Dan

20k's don't put out a lot of light. That could explain why the corals are reaching, even though it's a 250W MH.

Ok so im alittle confused, why the 4" sand bed in my trickle filter? My nitrates are almost 0, and the 20ks arent bad very very white/blue, what other bulbs for HQI would be better?? that the output is more than the 20k?

It may be those zoos, bc if you look at the pic with the hammer in it i just got a small frag of some other zoos and they dont reach, actually they are multiplying very fast since the MH, as well as my pagoda cup which is expanding from the bottom already....
