Question algea help and Skimmer help

I am looking for a hang on type skimmer or a smaller in sump type that will rock it like theres no tomarrow. i currently have a WON BROTHERS CU-24 Venturi Protien Skimmer rated for 60 gallon. but i am not impressed with its output i get very little in the collection cup and i have a healthy fish load and coral load and i believe that i should have a better output from my skimmer. i currently have a 75 Gallon display and a 24 gallon Berlin style sump and 10 Gallon refuge. in the main take i have 2 mated True perc's, 2 fire fish, 2 purple fire fish, 1 lawn mower blenny, 1 mandrin goby, 2 red headed gobbies, 1 kole yellow eyed tang, 1 mandrin goby, 7 blue/green reef chromis, 1 clam, 1 long tenticale purple tipped anenome, 2 rose buble tipped anenome's. as for coral's i have a large frog spawn, 2 hammer corals, and two christmas tree corals, lots of mushrooms and green star polyps. i am battleing "hair alge" and i have been able to pick at for awhile and get rid of alot of it but i really want to get ride of all of it and i have been reading alot of posts and have come to the conclusion that i need to "update" my protien skimmer. as that is the only thing not really up to par. please and help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

aaron

hang ons are in general awful.

THe problem with your request is that bigger skimmers are better than smaller skimmers. Asking for a smaller skimmer is like asking for a smaller hammer: It just doesnt work as well.

how much you willing to spend, and how much space do you have in the sump?

22" is tough. Most of them are at 24".

Maybe a Tunze DOC? 9010 I think would fit the price range....

22 inches is going to be tough, I think the Tunze will fit. I have never used one but lots of folks on here have and give very favorable reviews.
