I was really suprised this morning. My girlfriend yelled something up the stairs this morning and I thought she said the anemone looks 'sick'. So I was less than enthused because I couldn't imagine what the problem would be. Then she yelled again if I was going to come look at it so I go down there and low and behold... she was trying to tell me the thing had split! My first split. I couldn't believe it. I thought it might but I wasn't really expecting it today. It's been in my tank for 13 months now and it's been fed well. It spawned a month ago, for a few days in a row. Never had seen that before.
Recent changes? I added a maroon clown 6 months ago that hosts it and feeds it occasionally. It swims back and forth between them now. My 96w PCs went out on me last month so I bought a 4x 39w Tek T-5 unit August 1st. It has done wonders for the tank and the anemone. It was a dark brown color and now it's turning a green and purple color. I re-arranged the tank last week to remove a dead fish (disease from a newly added one) and bothered it a little, moving the two large rocks it's attached to and I didn't know if I had damaged it or not. Then the tank got about a 30% water change after a normal one and a skimmer flood last week. I just started using a moontube I got off ebay that dims and brightens automatically for moon phases, last month too. It's almost back at full moon strenth last night. Full moon is on the 7th. I feed the tank a mixture of DT's phyto, cyclopeeze, reef chili, and DT's oyster eggs every few days. I just fed the BTA a small silver side 3 days ago, as normal. It could have been in the process for a while now but just completely split last night with no warning. It's amazing how the color is coming back to it now. It's also been laying kind of flat lately and I thought something was wrong. Here it is today ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
