external pump to pvc, hose barb?

I am trying to hook up a blueline T4 velocity pump to a seaswirl.....my question is about the hookup from the actual pump to the pvc. Here is a picture of the inflow and outflow ports:

As you can see, where it will connect to the pipe there are no threads? I tried using flex pipe like this:

.....aaaaaaaaaaaand it leaks. Anyone have this pump and can tell me what to do? Or, do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
jeff

Hey instead of that type line you are using, get the plain clear stuff. It is a little more flexible and therefore would be more compliant in sealing once you put hose clamps on it.

You did use hose clamps didnt ya? I dont see any in the pics you posted. If you didnt, try that first, then the clear tubing would be next.

I'm not sure the outlet size of the pump. If it is 1" it looks like you need a 1" pvc to 3/4 hose barb fitting. This will be grey. If the pump has a threaded connection use a female 1" to slip. Then a slip to 3/4 hosebarb, PVC glue for the connections, teflon arond the pump fitting and a radiator hose clamp around the flex fitting.
You might find a grey 1" to 3/4 barbed connector and you would only need one piece and some teflon and a clamp.

dont put the flexible INSIDE of the harder PVC

put the end of the flexible pipe in hot water for a minute or two, then wiggle on OVER the PVC.....better seal

or a barbed to pvc connector
