i have those too, but I have no idea. I guess they are some type of calc. algae. I call them green catstails but what they are exactly is beyond me. The also have created their own colony on one rick with about 10 of them in a 1&1/2 inch sq peice of rock.

Neomeris annulata. slow growing, some fish may eat it. nothing to worry about in most cases, and is often left in the display for the beauty of the algae.
