DINOS....again....What to do?
Hi After a 6 month battle with the mighty dinos they have returned.
The first time I rid the dinos by bringing my TDS to Zero. Well my TDS is still zero but the dinos seem to return when I replace the sandbed I removed months ago while the battle was going on. I have tried this three times over the past two months. I actually boil the aragonite before placing it back in the tank every time for 10 minuted. I love my sandbed, what could be causing the dinos to bloom when the sand bed is added? |

What's your pH? Try raising it to 8.4 or 8.5 or even 8.6 for a day or so. Dino hates high pH.
Someone in the Chemistry Forum had a formula for spiking the tank with a kalk mixture, but I'm not really sure what that entails and what you have in your tank. I had Dino and raised my pH, got my TDS down to 0 and they're gone... for now anyway. I'm also running Rowaphos, GAC and de=nitrate. Anything that will help.

I've had really good luck with polyfilters and phosban.
