Active Carbon causes Cloudy Water
I have kent marine reef carbon [http://www.kentmarine.com/saltwater/rc2.html] and I put 1.5 cups in a fishnet and rinsed it for about a minute in warm water, then I put it in a filter sock and attach it to the end of my overflow drain hose.
In about 30 minutes it causes the water the get a tad cloudy -- although very clear otherwise. The last time I used this I removed the active carbon then I used Seachem Clarity [http://www.seachem.com/products/prod...s/Clarity.html] and the water was pristine in about 4 hours. Am I doing something wrong? Sould I just wait longer next time?
