Sounds like someone has some homegrown live rock going. If it is cheap, there is a reason... buyer beware comes to mind

I have 3 LFS stores here that sell live rock, one place is $5.50/lb, another is $6.99/lb, then one is only $2.99/lb..
The 2.99 stuff says it's Fiji live rock. I got 55lbs of it. The guy with the 6.99/lb stuff said the Fiji live rock there probably selling isn't that good. So, should I get some of his expensive rock? He says it came from a better place but I don't remember what he said. If I was to add some of his rock how much? |

Just for poots and giggles (had to clean it up, afterall, this is a family oriented website ), I 'googled' OFZABOGA, got nothing.
Maybe it's somebody's homemade acronym for something... kind of like: SNAFU, FUBAR, BOHICA, etc.

Most of the live rock I have seen from local stores is pretty much the same quality (pretty devoid of any real life or hitchhikers) so I would look at your purchase based on appearance.
Get what looks good to you.

Well, if it's from Florida, then it's some sort of aquacultured live rock. Last I heard, you cannot collect natural rock from reefs anywhere in Florida (anywhere in the US for that matter).
