Alkalinity precipitation ... how bad?

I just added my usual dose of B-Ionic and, for the first time, the alkalinity component precipitated when I added it to the tank. Some of the stuff fell onto my frogspawn and I got nervous and pushed it off with a turky baster. the place on the frogspawn where the precipitate landed has retracted, but I don't know if that is from the precipitate or from the extra flow. Should I be worried.

Also, why did the stuff precipitate like that?

Thanks.

gotch ... the frogspawn is already back out as normal. my ca was 430 yesterday and my alkalinity was 3.0 ... i will test again tonight just in case something is way our of whack, but the only thing added to the tank was some 2part and food for the fish and corals so I assume that it is pretty close to that level still.
