Question T5's or Compact Flourecents

both will be matched up with 2X150W 10,000k HQI, the flurecents are 2x130W and the T5's are 4X54W, It's a Current-Usa fixture.

t5s beat pc any day.

the only thing pc is better for is more money wasted on bulbs, and electricity

Does T5 limit the types or coral I can have? I have a 54 corner with a 24" 4 bulb TekLight. I have all soft coral right now (star polyps, button polyps, xenia, finger leather) but want to pick up a Derasa clam in the next few days. Any thoughts?

I seemed to get more algae growth with the CF bulbs than with T-5, and I have also heard of others that have had the same experience. I for one don't know the scientific light measurments, but the T-5 bulbs even at a lower wattage seem to be just as bright as the CF's.

t5 hands down.
4x54 t5 with ind.
vs.
4*55/65 cf

T5 by a mile.

In addition to my comment, T5's are superior as far as actinic colors go for MH supplements.

I currently run 3X65w pcs over a 25g (#1 actinic blue, #1 10k, & #1 50/50 10k/actinic 03). I don't have rome for a 4x24w tek t5 setup & am wondering if a 3 bulb setup would improve coral coloration using icecap reflectors.. #1 ati blue plus, #1 ati aquablue, & #1 uvl speractinic.
..opinions please
