Rusty nail in sump

This is going to sound stupid but I found a rusty nail in my sump today. I'm thinking it's been in there for about a week, maybe a few days longer (I can only assume it fell in when I was hanging some pipes). There's nothing in the tank yet with the exception of the LR and whatever hitch hikers are on it. Would an iron test tell me how much rust is in the water? And will a few large water changes dilute any trace amounts of rust down to harmless levels?

I would think it would only be a small amount since it was in there for a short amount of time. Water changes cannot hurt, but I would think you are ok.
