copopods gone....now there a new critter.

Right after I set up my new tank, I had milions of copopods in the fuge. About 2 weeks ago they were suddenly gone to the point where there were pretty much none, I could look for 2 hours and maby see one. Well about 3 days ago I noticed that there were tons of little critters that looked like copopods, except they were longer, and bigger. I dont think they are amphipods because arnt those things like the size of your finger nail? These are are about the size of two copopods lined up and a bit wider, they are very easy to see if you look on the glass in the fuge and even the glass in the tank. What are these? Are they copopods? Or some other thing? They seem to have replaced the copopods.

take a look at this page and see if you see what you have. http://www.xtalworld.com/Aquarium/hitchfaq.htm

amphipods are not that big, most the time they range from 1/16"-1/2" long with the tails uncurled.
