Lens for PC lighting

I'm building a hood for a 20 long prop tank. I have three 65 watt PC retro kits to go in it. What options do I have for a lens(as far as light tranmission is concerned) to keep SW splash off the fixtures? Is plexiglass OK? If I use glass, any particular type I should get (or avoid)?

Thanks, Dave
