Many protein skimmers will create micro-bubbles for a while but then "coat-up," and that will stop. If yours doesn't, then there are things that you can do. Mine never did stop so I had to move its outflow to a section of the sump that was separated from the return-pump's section by foam. That completely stopped the micro-bubbles from getting into my reef. Otherwise, if your sump has baffles that are a bubble-trap, have the skimmer's outflow directed to the section before the bubble-trap.

pantyhose. No really a filter bag with some floss, or charcoal in it attached to the water return from teh skimmer. I had to do that with mine, and it cut micro bubbles by 95%. the other 5 are caught by floss before returning to the pump chamber of the fuge.
