Worm question
I've noticed that dozens of small, tan worms begin swimming in the water column about one hour after lights go out. They're about 1/4 inch in length. They do not seem to bother the fish, and the fish do not eat them. Does anyone have a possible ID for these worms?
Thanks |

hard to say, but usually free swimming worms are epitokes. which, in your case being that small, are baby bristleworms. any chance of netting a few and getting some pics?

I was able to get a somewhat clear photo of one of these worms. The photo is in my gallery and titled 'worm' (There's a penny on the right side of the photo for size comparison)

looks like an epitoke to me. epitokes is kind of a general word that covers several methods of worm reprodution. yours appears to be a baby bristleworm. but im no worm expert .
