the bottom looks like a dead coral. i have a couple of rocks that had that and the coral actually came back. i have no idea what they are, but hey it was a free coral!!

I'd start ripping out the alga. The angel might do the job, might not, and macroalgae can be very obnoxious once established.

I'd manually extract the macro imo.

Harvest. Saving it is pointless. There's going to be plenty for your angel and if not, you can suplement with other foods. But if the algae takes over, forget it.

Yep,
Reach in and rip out what you can. Once it starts growing, it's tough to deal with.

I never saw turbos eat caulerpa. They like hair algae though.

I happen to like caulerpa lol unlike alot of ppl here on RC.
I like it cuz I keep tangs though and they love it. If you don't have a predator it can easily become a problem.
I can't seem to grow enough to feed my tangs but finally started a fuge so maybe now.

What I would do if you plan on getting an angel is wait and see if it will eat it. If it does like it it's great food and it will prolly be gone in no time.
If it doesnt eat it then you can start ripping it out.

I would have just removed the rock if it isn't too muhc to do. Throw the rock in the fuge if it has no corals growning on it. Macro algae can take over a tank and spread on to other rocks. Other then that, fishes will eat it but not all of it.

I had a number of live rock with macro algae on it when I got it. My powder blue tang made short work of it.
