I got some from the local Culligan water softener company. I researched it a bit first and found an online supplier (doesn't seel direct) and figured out what carbon I wanted- there are many grades. The stuff I got was AGC-8 AW. I think the AGC part refers to the carbon source. The 8 is the size and the AW means "acid washed". The acid washing removes most of the phosphate (which is present in ALL carbon since it originates from an organic source).
I got 2 or 3 cu ft of the stuff at a fraction of the price I would have paid. You need to keep it sealed in a reasonably airtight container since it will otherwise pick up stuff from the air and slowly lose capacity. Allen |
