Here's a cool gadget!
While at Home Depot yesterday, I couldn't believe the item I found for sale. They have a 25 foot heavy duty extension cord that is lighted at the end, and it has three outlets along the cord. So every eight feet, you have an outlet to plug in. This could come in handy for some fish room setups. I'm going to use it in the garage to power a few power tools, and the best part is each cord will easily reach its own outlet instead of having them all gathered in one spot! It was only $11!!!
Here are some pictures in case that helps get your adrenaline pumping. More POWER! The wiring is 12/3, and the cord is super thick. It'll handle serious abuse. The box says it is rated for 15 amps, which surprises me as I bet it could handle 20 amps easily. Each outlet has a cover to make it resistant to weather conditions, but obviously it can't be submerged or be in a major rainstorm outside. |

not to hijack your post but
another cool thing is digital timers.. there will be alot of them at all the major stores now intime for Christmas lights.. I just saw one that programs days of the week hours and minutes for 3 differn't plug at Target for less then 9 dollars. I will be picking one up and using it pretty soon.. no need in buying a highdollar one from the fish store or catalogs 3 doesn't sound ilke much but you can plug a strip into each socket on it. I also want to play around with rope lights. I am thinking of mounting a small peice of rope light under my fixture for monnlights.

A guy around my area uses an entire rope light on his 400gal! we also have another guy that uses part of one on his 100, it works well, but if you use too much itll be too bright.
