Sideways External Pump?

I have a Gen-X PCX4 and was wondering can I mount it sideways?
I'm trying to plumb a closed loop system for holes drilled into the floor of my tank.

Theres not enough room to clear my equiptment if the pump is mounted up right, so I figured if I mount it to the side wall of the stan it would be ok right?

Gravity will still be able to feed the pump.
