anyone see "Nigel's Wild, Wild World"?

I'm not really a cephalopoder (yet), but last night there was a very interesting tv show on Animal Planet that followed a female octopus from her birth to her death. It really was amazing to see. Did anyone else, by chance, see what I'm talking about?

Is that the one also called the octopus garden filmed in new zealand.... at one point they are in man made pipes and get recorded by a female scientist?

I saw it and taped it Saterday. This show was the life of a octopus caught several times and then escaping. I think the species is O.maorum. I have not seen octopus garden, Colin.

hmmmm, this sounds like the same film with a different name.... Just like when I bought "Octopus" from the National Geographic channel and it turned out to be the same as The Octopus Show which I had seen a million times

So in this film last night, did the octo get trawled up in a oyster boat, then later in a big pipe and put into a fish tank on the middle of the deck and slide off the deck back to the sea? And spent the whole film "fighting" with blue cods or something?

That was maorum too!

PS Steve just posted on TONMO with a new name for maorum apparantly, and I have suggested an idea for future ceph ID if you want to throw any ideas in?????? thanks Chris

Yes, it was the same film...

It was in Nigels Wild Wild word, but they refered to it several times as the Octopus Garden. Yes, he got catched by the boat and later in the pipes by the scientist, etc, etc...

Still, great. I had not seen it before.

Oh yeah, I am still around. Just lurking a lot. No octo yet. Maybe one of this days...

Cool

Hi Folks, Been a while since I posted here and just wanted to say howdy! I did catch both specials and they were great! Basically Nigel overdubbed the Octopus Garden Special as if he were presenting it. But what the heck I enjoyed watching it 2x I hope everyones ceph' and other tanks are doing great! I had a major crash after changing substrates in my tank from crush coral to deep sand bed and lost everything but 3 green chromis and then I had an ich infestation so I am basically fishless for another month while the Ich runs its cycle and I do hyposalinity! Watch our for the drunken tards on the highways and have a safe and happy 4th of July!:fun1:
