Help! Tek T5 placement!
Can anybody tell me what height above the tank I should mount my new tek t5 fixture that is coming today? I have a 29g and I'm getting the 24" wide fixture so I have to hang the lights from the ceiling and I was hoping to not have to use any sort of glass over the aqarium. At what height above the water would it be safe from splashing etc without being too far away to compromise the amount of light hitting the tank? Thanks for your suggestions.

I use the Tek stands without a top on the tank. I have them about 5 inches off of the top of the tank without any problems. You really have to try it and see. Tek also offers an acrylic shield for the fixtures that you can always put on if you are worried about it.

Mine is about 4 inches of fthe water with no splashguard and they are fine
