Quad cities- any one got a UV I can use for a week?
I want to play preventative medicine right now, though I dont' know much about this possible bacteria yet. I want to make sure a sick fish didn't infect the rest of the system.
Does anyone have a UV [preferably a really large one] I can borrow for a bit? I am afraid the flesh eating bacteria has hit my tank.. not sure where it came from. I haven't had time to add anything new in months and months and months [short of some frags from Coralfreak] so sad. I have had the fish for 3 years.. |

Let me update this and add this for my QT tank.
Does any one have FURAN-2 [fish pill] by time I ship it here, I think it will be too late to even try using it. |

You can get it from frozen foods. They talked about it in last month Coral. Could also just be an infected wound.
Good Luck with the jawfish I know you had him for a while. |

He is in a hospital tank now, and I freshwater dipped him..... with a stong dose of the antibotic... i used "biFuran+" in it's powder form. and mixed in the QT tank.. I don't have a filter for the QT- so I will just do seveal water changes a day with water form the main tank. Glad I have that Ammonia Alert Badge.
thanks clayton.. Not sure if he will pull out well, if it is a wound.. why would it be eating the flesh under the shin? The funny thing is, as bad at that wound looks- there is no change to his normal behavior.. swimming and exploring perfectly noramlly, eating normally... etc. |

MelaFix would work as well. Make a skimmer go mad but works good. Did the furan turn the water green? |

he will be there for at least 3 more weeks.. likely 4
I am going to keep him on the meds untill he is healed., and then remove them and watch and see what happens. I am probably going to freshwater dip him before i put him in the display again as well |
