QTing corals
What do I need to setup a QT for zoas?
I have a 10-gallon tank. I have an extra MH pendant that I can prop up over it. I have a heater and a powerhead. My main questin is, do I need a power filter, like I am using on my fish QT? Or is lighting, heating, & oxygenating the water sufficient, + maybe weekly water changes? A few soft corals won't produce much waste/ammonia, correct? TIA! |

Shouldn't need much filtration I wouldn't think but I would keep an eye on the ammonia, etc., just in case and then do water changes as necessary. May go through a cycle so be prepared.

You may want to give StevenPro a PM about the filtration though because I am no expert. May want an air driven sponge filter seeded with bacteria from the main tank to aid in ammonia removal.
