Help with calcium reactor setup.
I am trying to setup a calcium reactor on my 40g cube/29g and 30g sump/fuge. It is a new nano reactor by Aquatic Systems Designs. I am using Schuram stick media.
Over the last 5 days my Alk has dropped from 8.6 to 8.1 and my Calc has stayed level at 450 ppm. My reactor ph is 6.33, which I am told might be on the low side. I am doing 12 drips per min and 3 bubbles per min. My question is how do I stable out the alk and keep the calc the same? Thanks for the help! |

You just need to experiment with your drip rate and bubble counter. I run a drip a second and a bubble a second on my reactor, but mine is a Geo 612 on a 120gal tank. I have a pH controller on mine and it runs between 6.75-6.5pH. I have also read on here that the stick media can take lower pH the regular media so your pH in the reactor should be ok, but you might want to increase your drip rate a bit then check it the next day.
