anenome is moving....should leave it alone?
I have an anenome, there are pics at my homepage. It has seemed happy low on a rock, near the sand. Now it is randomly crawling up the rock to some undisclosed location. Do I leave it?

Unfortunately, you SHOULD leave it alone. It will eventually (hopefully) find a place it likes. If you move it, it will just keep wandering.
Hope you don't have any corrals in the way...

I bought the entire setup 2 months ago from someone getting out of the hobby. I hoping it was getting enough light but maybe not. I only have coralife 4x65 power compact right now. I am trying to upgrade to mh or t5 soon. And yes there are things everywhere for it to crawl over!

4x65 is pretty good......how old are the bulbs?? if they are older then 8 months to a year then you HAVE to replace them your tank will be much brighter afterwards

Well, the corrals "in the way" are definately at risk, but there's not much you can do about it, really. It is one of the pitfalls of keeping an anemone in a reef tank. They move for no apparent reason and sometime leave a swath of disgruntled occupants in their wake.
Good luck! (This is why I eentually got rid of my anemones...)

also 2 months is a little soon for an anenome even if the tank was already established.....it could be cycling again.

I think it my be a litttle. I have other posts on here about high nitrates and ph swings etc. A daily disaster it seems. I'm not sure how old the bulbs are, so I guess I will buy some anyway. Anyone know how expensive they are? Any other suggestions about this anenome would be greatly appreciated!

The 65W PC's aren't that expensive. You can get them from HelloLights for $22 each. I prefer the 50/50 lights.

Yes. Each bulb has a blue and white. They are much brighter in appearance vs using a 10K and an actinic. -=E=-
