RO only
I just installed an RO unit to use as drinking water and for the Reef. Is plain RO water good enough or should I try an add a DI canister when I fill my tank, then take it off for drinking water? Thanks for any assistance.

RO is good, but if you measure the TDS coming out of the RO unit, it most likely won't be zero. No RO membrane has 100% reject. While adding a DI would be ideal, you are already moving in the right direction by at least using RO. But in the long run, you would be better off adding a DI canister or two, tapping the drinking water off after the RO, and the tank water off after the DI. HTH

You should have a carbon block on there before it reaches the RO membrane or else you'll be replacing it quite often.
Conefree mentions an important tool in our hobby, a TDS meter; you can purchase them fairly cheap off the internet. If you can get your TDS's to 5ppm or below, it will be ideal for your system.

Thanks for the info guys. I have a 5 stage RO system (Will post pics tonight). How do I tap them different than what the instructions say? Sorry I'm a noob and never messed with this before. Back in 2000 I used to buy RO/DI water from a water purification store, was like 25 cents a gallon. I will try to get a TDS from an online store. Thanks for the help guys!!
