too much lighting for a 30 gallon?

would it be too much light to put in the Outer Orbit 36" lighting package. it has a total of 342 watts and and dimensions of the tank are 36x12x16. I wanted to keep some sps, but didn't want to bleach my corals either. if it's too much, can anyone reccommend a good setup with metal halides?

here is a link to the light http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...Code=Current-H

I used to use a 150w DE Metal halide 14k over my 20L (only 12" tall). I upgraded the lighting for stonies and thought the 150w wasn't intense enough. I never had a problem with bleaching from anything.
