Best way to tap into PVC return plumbing
My returns are plumbed with 1.5" pvc and I want to tap into it to feed my CA reactor. What is the best way to tap into PVC?

I have a tap. I drilled a hole, threaded it with the tap and screwed a John Guest threaded fitting, teflon taped, into it and siliconed it. Works great. No leaks and it feeds my Ca reactor. I have a Schuran Pico.
Just make sure you get the right size drill bit and tap.

If at all possible, it would probably be best to tap into a fitting. It's thicker there so you'll have more meat to use for threads.

The threads on the J Guest fittings are very small and shallow, so just into the PVC works out well. There really isn't any appreciable pressure, so the threads hold pretty well.
