HOB Skimmer for 120g Tank
I'll be setting up a new 120g tank shortly. It's undrilled and while I may add an overflow and sump someday, it's not in my current plans.
I'm looking for a HOB skimmer that will work well. Scanning the forums the options seem to be Remora Pro, CSS, or Deltech. The Deltech would be nice but the $ is an issue. My tanks have a fairly low stocking level and my lighting, 260 w PC, isn't good enough for sps. Any inverts will be lower light ones. Any thoughts? |

Remora pro with the pre-filter box. The Mag3 is powerful and unsightly so I think you would need it.
I have the remora pro/Mag3/prefilter box/collection cup w/ drain. I bought it used on Ebay. You might be able to get a better deal that way if you are concerned about the $$ (as we are ![]()

I understand the Deltec is $$$ - If you do settle on the Deltec (MCE600) - then it can be used in the sump you may add later.
My MCE 600 works very very well (1+ year) and I'd highly recommend it. I've also heard good things about the Coralife HOB. Respectfully, Rich |
