I use this by the truckload. It has the least residual negative effects on the tank.

when I had the problem it was because my Alk was low so I slowly raised it with reef builder and it went away on its own

cyano is caused by poor waterflow......high nitrates, high phosphates and using sub par water......maybe alk like tremolo said although ive never heard that.......but def. possible.......try NEVER to use any kinds of chemical additives especially on a problem like this because there is a reason that cyano is there and just removing it does NOT fix the problem.....had a blanket of it in my 90 gal that i gave to my father....he let the pump run dry so many times it went from 400gph to like 12 gph lol and there was almost no flow....plus the skimmer stopped working and he was over feeding......so i fixed the pump got the skimmer working got a new power head and told him to stop feeding like 100 times a day.........then i did 3 35 gal water changes in a 2 week period and now the cyano is really 95% gone and its not comming back nearly at the rate it was.......i have a little since the last waterchange 2 weeks ago........so for what its worth just have patients
