I bought my live rock and sand off a guy who had a maderian and i think I dont have any... I mean are they really visable. or do they just kind look like a dust particle in window light if you look just at the right time at the right angle???

well copepods look like tiny little white specs and you usually see them on the glass...but i have more amphipods (that i see anyways..i hardly ever see copepods) and they're bigger..about the size of ants for the most part...some about the size of the big red fire ants. I'd say get a fuge

I am willing to bet that your tank is full of them and you just don't know it. Check the tank with a flashlight after the lights go out and you will see pods running all over the rock.

lol oh
i'd get a lot of rock rubble and put it in there (on top of a few inches of sand) and then put a big ball of chaeto in there...then i'd pay the 17 bucks the lfs wants for a big bottle of pods and dump that in there lol. That would be sure to get your pods at least started imo. (andyou dont have that manderin do you? if you do...thats an obvious reason you got no pods...or any other fish like that for that matter)

Feeding a phytoplankton product might help increase the population of small animals. I use DT's reef mix, but BioPlankton and Phyto-Feast also seem to be good. Try looking at night. Often, animals come out at night.
If you want to seed the tank, ipsf.com and inlandaquatics.com sell kits that I like.
