Need Help with SG
So my Sg is about 1.022 or a little higher. I measured with a hydrometer but I was careful about bubbles and stuff. I am ordering a refractometer this weekend.
I want to creep it up as I have a cleaner shrimp. I guess they are picky with changes in SG. I us a 1 gallon jug with RO water for top offs. How much salt should I put in every day to inch it up slowly without harming my invert. Is he in any danger with it being this low? |

mix up a batch of SW ( to the SG you want or a little higher ) and just use that for your top up until you get to your desired SG. nice easy way that doesn't affect your inhabitants.

i would leave it until you get your refractometer. you may get it then realize that your sg is at 1.027 or something and then you will have to end up bringing it down.

My SG was close to 1.024 according to the hydrometer and after testing several times about a week later it is at 1.022-1.023. I use a marker to mark my water level. It is about 1/4 inch lower than that yet my sg is lower. How is that possible? Is there something I am missing here??
