I had low alk,ca, and mag issues with TM Pro. I switched to HW and am much more satisfied. I always did like IO and Reef Crystals though. IMO, I would do another search on TM and gather more info/experiences with it. HTH.

I just switched from IO to HW..i wouldnt wipe my butt with HW. ALK tests out at 6.4????6.4???? are you kidding me.
I am also considering switch to TM but rather TM pro reef depending on what people are testing their ALK at with it.

IO and RC have too high an alk so i guess they all got problems, TM i heard it has phosphates but i run a GFO so i dont really care.

lol, I hope you wouldn't wipe your butt with IO or TM either. That could cause some serious irritation.

Are you having any issues with your current salt? I've always used IO, and never had any issues with it, other than some calcium addition.

Switching from IO to TM? For the extra phosphate maybe? Or the higher copper? It is ground nice though.

I am switching from IO because my ALK tests it at 10.6. I keep my tank at 8.4-8.7 and thats where i like it...close to NSW. IO i cant do larger WC's because it will swing ALK way too much. I like IO and have used it forever, but with the full blown sps growout tank i am doing and the plan to upgrade to a big cube full of all kinds of illlnasysuperduperexpensivestuff...IO aint gonna work. I need a salt with ALK that is 8-9. If i can find a salt with that i am willing to tweak the CA and MG myself. You just cant lower alk of a salt mix, albeit you can raise it.

True but a tank will consume 1-3 or more dKh per day so it is easily fixed by not supplementing for a day if you must have the lower alk.
