Euro-Reef Sedra 3500 Replacement pump needed

Hello,

Is there any place other than Euro-Reef to buy a replacement pump for my 6-1?

I heard the ASM modified pumps are similar and may work but I can't find a confirmation on that using the search feature.

Links appreciated.

Thanks,

Alan

I understand (from ER) that the issue it the joint between the output of the pump and the skimmer body. ER does not sell that part. They said you may be able to take the existing adapter off the old pump, but it "usually gets dammaged". On my 5-3 the coupling was glued. I was able to get a new impeller rather than replace the pump (though I got the ASM one for less & used the old shaft). Seems to work fine one week later. Oh, and the new ER pumps have the new style impeller with better foaming.

hmm - did you purchase the pump from euro reef? Everywhere else seems to sell a Needlewheel Sedra for $20 less. They just specifiy that it is for the ASM, and not the Euro-Reef

I have two new impellers that Custom Aquatic sent me. I wonder if this is the new version? They were sent in September.

Thanks,

Alan

fishtastegood:

"Salty Critter" carries these pumps.

Their website is their name .com (not sure if we can post website addresses here anymore).

I also use this pump for my Euroreef skimmer, and I grew up in Tampa and my family still lives there.

The ASM needlewheels are different from the ER ones, though not by much in the case of the new ASM and the old ER that I have to compare (diameter of needles, spacing, number of holes, a few minor diffs). The new ER needlewheels came out just a few weeks ago, so the ones purchased in sept are likely older styles.
