let me see your sump.

i have a 10 gal sump with skimmer and cheato.

my setup is a one inch bulkhead to a 3/4 in T to vacuum/pool hose to sump.

the skimmer isnt bad but the overflow from the tank is producing lots of bubbles that are going into the display.

would like to see some successful designs to get rid of them.

also i have to keep the overflow hose in the sump water or it will loose its syphon and my display dank will overflow.

i cant tell from other pics, are you supposed to have the overflow line in the sump water?

BrassMonkey - Here is a picture of mine.

Look at this from Melev's site: How does a sump work???

You should be able to turn your return pump off/on and the return should stop and start without flooding. Maybe post some pictures of your setup as you will get a lot of help here on RC to correct this.
