need lighting advice for new 90g reef tank

I'm getting a 90g tank this weekend and want to make a reef tank. I would love some advice on which type of lighting I should do. I would like to stay away from MH since I hear they heat up the water alot and are expensive. Someone said you can use VHO lighting but I don't know anything about them. I really want to get some colorful coral, mushrooms, etc for the tank

I was at the LFS and they suggested ( of course they want to see stuff) a complete lighting system that would fit my 90g, its something like aqua clear, comes with 4 bulbs at 260w. 2 are 10k bulbs and 2 are lunar lights actinek I think? He also said I could replace them with higher watts if I wanted. They were decent priced at 279 with a 50 gift card in addition but I wonder if I'm just wasting my money.I want something that will last and will do well for what I want, which is to have a decent reef tank with SPC and mushrooms. ( I read they are good for beginners) any thoughts?
