plumbing aquac ev120 skimmer without a sump

hey all,
i'm setting up my new 60 gal cube, and i do not have a sump. i have an aquac ev120 skimmer from my previous tank with a mag 9 pump.

i would like to plumb this into my sumpless tank, but i'm not sure how to do it. in order to make it work properly, it would seem that i need to run an input line from the tank into the pump (which will be drawing water from the tank), then run the output from the pump into the skimmer input, and then run an output line from the skimmer back into the tank.

two questions: first, anything i should know plumbing wise that i might overlook? i'm not sure about how to minimize microbubbles without a sump.

second, i'm pretty sure that the skimmer will have to elevated such that the water level in the skimmer matches the water level in the tank...is this correct?

Here is a good example of an EV for a sumpless tank.

i already have the skimmer. it's the regular kind with the completely enclosed box.

As long as the gate valve is at or above the water line you will be fine. You dont want backpressure against the gatevalve.
