ASM G4 Plus Protein Skimmer Operating Water Level?

I'd use the "search" function to figure this out but since it never works I'll have to post to ask.

I am going to get 1 or maybe even 2 of these protein skimmers. I am also going to have a custom sump built for it/them. But in order to do that I need to know what the best water height in the sump is for operating the skimmer. I have heard of others in different forums running them in water up to 15 inches high in the sump.

Does anyone know what water height it needs to run at in order to be the most efficient?

Thank you in advance for the advice.

hmmm... those posts seem to talk about the water line in the skimmer...

since my skimmer will be in the sump i am looking for advice on the water height outside of the skimmer... the height of the water in the sump where the skimmer will be place in.... this dictates how the sump is built, more specifically how high the dividing glass is that seperates the skimmer compartment from the refugium compartment etc....

anyone?

Not sure I understand your question but I have the G4 in a separate tank filled to about 9 inches of water. I believe the 'rule' for this was 8-10 inches of water depth

Yup 8-10 is what I have seen as the recommendation.
