Question Does rock cooking require a heater?

I know this may seem like a silly question, but do you?

Yes you do need a heater. It is not a silly question. I have friends that cook rocks to cure for resale, but can stink up your place!

yeah it really stinks!!! had it inside, it was a horrid smell! just shifted it outside today :-)
