My Fish Seems Wierd

I got a 6 inch orange spotted diamond goby about two weeks ago and he is constantly piling up sand in one spot and collecting all the small shells near his cave up ontop of his sand pile...

Is this wierd for a goby or natural... is he trying to decorate.. is there any thing i can do to make him feel more at home....

btw he stirs up alot of sand and it gts into the water column.. will this get better as time goes by???

I never had a goby but I am pretty sure those gobies eat around in the sand bed a lot, if someone can correct me great. Probably normal but a response with someone who keeps them is better than mine. I thought I read thats what diamond gobies do though, dig around a bit.

My daimond goby does same thing. Smart i say . He collects empty shells and piles them in a cave. He will make a pile of sand then defend it. They are great fish and he keeps my sand bed very clean. They like to sleep under rocks and will pull sand from under so make sure rocks are placed evenly on the bottom so he doesnt cause a rock slide. He always changes apperance of the sand bed and i think it looks more natural. He a great addtion to my tank. They eat organic matter and algea from bed keeping nitrates low and he also likes mysis and brine shrimp.
