My first reef tank, just got my LR from PA (BIG pics)
I inherited this tank from my brother-in-law and just got around to setting it up. I ordered my live rock from Premium Aquatics (excellent service by the way!) and put it in last night. I was a bit concerned about what the condition of it would be when it arrived as I had it shipped ground (2 days away) and the weather has been quite cold here in Minneapolis. I was expecting to get some stinky rock with a lot of die off but so far it looks great. I got 40lbs of the Fiji cured. I plan to add a cleanup crew in about a month. I can already tell how addicting this hobby is!

To the most addicting hobby Your beginning the best part of reefing, the start! Go slow, don't rush things, read and ask as many questions as possible, but most of all.................................... enjoy your tank!

Is there alot of life coming out from the rocks? I'm looking at getting my live rock from PA as well. The Fiji rock looks really good.

So far I've seen; a couple of worms, some bugs, and what looked to be a tiny little sea star. I hope to see a lot more as things acclimate. But as I said, I'm very impressed with the color and condition of the rock.

Thanks!
Except for the micro bubbles coming from my skimmer that is. I need to install the bubble trap tonight. |

That looks to be a CPR bakpak skimmer. I had the same problem with microbubbles when I first hooked it up. After a few hours or so the microbbules went away and I do not use the bubble trap or the bio media.
