Cheat question

I have a small piece of cheato I wanna grow into a decent ball, but its going pretty slow under 72 watts of pc. So i was going to put a 80 watt hallogen directly over it but it heats up the water aton. If I put the cheato in the tank that I mix saltwater in can I still use this water to change with the tanks?

If you do, the cheato will not grow because you don't have enough nutrients in the new saltwater. Nutrients is how cheato grows..
