base rock
I was wondering if I need to soak or clean base rock in any way. Or would just a quick rinse to remove dust and dried gunk do the trick?

I got some dry rock(lace rock) also. I've read that you should leave it in fresh water for 2-4 weeks.

My tank is 90% lacerock. In a year or so when coraline starts to really take over you won't be able to tell.

I guess my main concern is how clean it needs to be.

Just rinse it off some and it should be good to go. You could always cure it in FW for a week or two or be on the safe side.
